AP Chinese Language and Culture

Course scope

AP Chinese Language and Culture develops communication skills in Chinese and the ability to understand Chinese-speaking cultures.

Exam and assessment structure

The exam on 13 May 2027 lasts about 2 hours and is taken entirely in Bluebook. The first section includes a project presentation, questions and answers about the project, writing a story from images and replying to an email; the second has 25 listening and 30 reading questions. The free-response and multiple-choice sections are weighted equally. Students complete a project to prepare for the speaking tasks and submit their personal project reference (PPR) by 30 April 2027 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Spoken responses are recorded digitally during the exam.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this course we start preparation by assessing the student’s prior knowledge and needs. We carry out topic work together with the relevant question and assessment types, and develop the student’s ability to apply knowledge and justify answers. We track progress with practice suited to the course structure and regular review, and update the study plan for the target exam session.
