Exam and assessment structure
The exam on 5 May 2027 lasts 3 hours and is fully digital. The 55 multiple-choice questions are worth 45% and the three literary analysis essays 55%. The written section includes poetry analysis, prose fiction analysis and a literary argument using a work the student knows. Success depends on building a coherent interpretation and choosing suitable textual evidence as well as on knowledge of the works.
