AP Environmental Science

Course scope

AP Environmental Science takes a scientific approach to environmental systems and the effects of human activity on nature. Solutions to environmental problems are evaluated through ecosystems, biodiversity, population, energy resources, pollution and global change.

Exam and assessment structure

The fully digital exam on 13 May 2027 lasts 2 hours 40 minutes. The 80 multiple-choice questions make up 60% of the score and the 3 free-response questions 40%. The free-response section covers designing an investigation, interpreting quantitative data, and analysing an environmental problem with calculations. The course helps students connect scientific knowledge to current issues such as sustainability and resource use.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this course we start preparation by assessing the student’s prior knowledge and needs. We carry out topic work together with the relevant question and assessment types, and develop the student’s ability to apply knowledge and justify answers. We track progress with practice suited to the course structure and regular review, and update the study plan for the target exam session.
