AP Latin
← Back to AP PreparationCourse scope
AP Latin builds skills in grammar, translation, literary analysis and Roman culture by reading Latin poetry and prose.
Exam and assessment structure
The fully digital exam on 14 May 2027 lasts 3 hours and consists of 52 multiple-choice questions and 5 free-response questions including short answers, translation and short analytical essays. The two sections are weighted equally. The course also includes two in-class project checkpoints completed before the exam. Working with texts studied during the course and with new passages, students connect linguistic detail to historical and literary context.
