AP Spanish Language and Culture

Course scope

AP Spanish Language and Culture develops reading, listening, writing and speaking skills in Spanish together with the cultural contexts of Spanish-speaking societies.

Exam and assessment structure

The exam on 13 May 2027 lasts about 2 hours 30 minutes and is taken entirely in Bluebook. In the 2027 structure, the first section consists of a project presentation, questions and answers about the project and a source-based argumentative essay; the second has 25 listening and 30 reading questions. The two sections are weighted equally. The personal project reference (PPR) for the project prepared for the speaking tasks is submitted by 30 April 2027 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Language skills are thus assessed together with cultural research and communication.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this course we start preparation by assessing the student’s prior knowledge and needs. We carry out topic work together with the relevant question and assessment types, and develop the student’s ability to apply knowledge and justify answers. We track progress with practice suited to the course structure and regular review, and update the study plan for the target exam session.
