Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)

Course scope

Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) is the IB Diploma Programme core component through which students gain experience in creativity, physical activity and service to the community. It runs alongside academic subjects; the student plans activities, reflects on experiences and shows learning outcomes with evidence.

Exam and assessment structure

There is no written exam or numerical grading for CAS as there is for subjects; students are expected to meet the program’s learning outcomes and complete a CAS project. The process is run with the school’s CAS coordinator. This component aims to strengthen the student’s ability to take responsibility, collaborate and evaluate their own growth within everyday life.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this subject we work according to the student’s SL or HL level, exam year and the program followed at school. We close topic gaps and work on using knowledge in the relevant assessment formats and justifying answers. We set study priorities with the school’s exam and submission calendar in mind, and organise review and practice around the student’s progress.

Current exam information

May and November sessions; exact days and times are confirmed with the school’s IB coordinator.
