IB Classical Greek SL ve HL

← Back to IB Preparation

Course scope

IB Classical Greek develops linguistic analysis, translation and an understanding of classical Greek culture by reading Ancient Greek texts.

Exam and assessment structure

It shares a common assessment model with Latin: Paper 1 covers comprehension and translation of unseen texts, and Paper 2 short and extended responses on the works studied. SL and HL students also create a source-based research dossier. At HL, an original composition in Ancient Greek and the rationale explaining its choices are assessed. Language proficiency is thus addressed together with literary interpretation and cultural research.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this subject we work according to the student’s SL or HL level, exam year and the program followed at school. We close topic gaps and work on using knowledge in the relevant assessment formats and justifying answers. We set study priorities with the school’s exam and submission calendar in mind, and organise review and practice around the student’s progress.

Current exam information

May and November sessions; exact days and times are confirmed with the school’s IB coordinator.
