IB Film SL ve HL

← Back to IB Preparation

Course scope

IB Film treats cinema both as an art form to be analysed and as a field of hands-on production. While studying the cultural contexts of films and how they create meaning, students also experience different production roles.

Exam and assessment structure

Instead of a written final exam, textual analysis, a comparative study and a film production portfolio are assessed; at HL there is also a collaborative film project. This work lets the student relate choices in editing, image, sound and narrative to their intentions. The subject combines critical viewing with creative practice, and submissions are completed according to the assessment calendar set by the school.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this subject we work according to the student’s SL or HL level, exam year and the program followed at school. We close topic gaps and work on using knowledge in the relevant assessment formats and justifying answers. We set study priorities with the school’s exam and submission calendar in mind, and organise review and practice around the student’s progress.

Current exam information

May and November sessions; exact days and times are confirmed with the school’s IB coordinator.
