IB Geography SL ve HL

← Back to IB Preparation

Course scope

IB Geography combines physical and human geography to examine the relationships between population, resources, the environment and global change. Students evaluate case studies, maps and data at different scales.

Exam and assessment structure

SL has Paper 1 and Paper 2; HL adds Paper 3, which deepens the study of global interactions. At both levels a written fieldwork report is prepared; it is worth 25% at SL and 20% at HL. The subject develops the use of geographic knowledge to understand local and global problems and to explain research findings with reliable evidence.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this subject we work according to the student’s SL or HL level, exam year and the program followed at school. We close topic gaps and work on using knowledge in the relevant assessment formats and justifying answers. We set study priorities with the school’s exam and submission calendar in mind, and organise review and practice around the student’s progress.

Current exam information

May and November sessions; exact days and times are confirmed with the school’s IB coordinator.
