IB Psychology SL ve HL

← Back to IB Preparation

Course scope

IB Psychology examines behaviour and mental processes through biological, cognitive and sociocultural approaches. In the curriculum first assessed in 2027, research methods, applying concepts to new situations and interpreting evidence come to the fore.

Exam and assessment structure

At SL and HL, Paper 1 assesses concepts, content and context, and Paper 2 research methods. HL adds Paper 3, based on data analysis and interpretation. The internal assessment is the student developing a research proposal, worth 30% at SL and 20% at HL. For 2027 preparation, the current research proposal structure should therefore be followed rather than the previous curriculum’s experiment-replication model.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this subject we work according to the student’s SL or HL level, exam year and the program followed at school. We close topic gaps and work on using knowledge in the relevant assessment formats and justifying answers. We set study priorities with the school’s exam and submission calendar in mind, and organise review and practice around the student’s progress.

Current exam information

May and November sessions; exact days and times are confirmed with the school’s IB coordinator.
