IB Theatre SL ve HL

Course scope

IB Theatre approaches theatre from the perspectives of performer, director, designer and member of a creative team. Students bring play texts to the stage, research world theatre traditions and create original performance together.

Exam and assessment structure

Instead of a written final exam, a production proposal, a research presentation and a collaborative theatre project are assessed. At HL a solo performance developed from a theatre theory is added. Written documents and performance recordings show the student’s creative choices and the connection they make between research and practice. The process develops teamwork and critical evaluation as well as individual expression.

Preparation at Youprep Studio

In this subject we work according to the student’s SL or HL level, exam year and the program followed at school. We close topic gaps and work on using knowledge in the relevant assessment formats and justifying answers. We set study priorities with the school’s exam and submission calendar in mind, and organise review and practice around the student’s progress.
