SAT Preparation

We build a study plan for your SAT goal that fits your current level and the test calendar. We identify the skills you need in Math and Reading and Writing, and combine topic work with test practice.

What is the SAT

The SAT is a College Board test that assesses math and English reading and writing skills and can be used in university applications. The digital test has two main sections: Reading and Writing, and Math. Students have 2 hours 14 minutes for 98 questions in total, with a 10-minute break between the sections. Each section is split into two modules, and the second module adapts to performance on the first. How much weight an SAT score carries in an application depends on the admission requirements of the target university.

SAT preparation at Youprep Studio

We start by assessing the student’s current level, goal and the time available before the test. We identify topic gaps and challenging question types and set study priorities. We reinforce what is learned in lessons with targeted question practice, and update the plan with timed practice and mock test reviews as the student progresses. We can focus on a single section when needed, or plan Math and Reading and Writing together.

SAT Math

We strengthen the student’s foundation in algebra, advanced math, problem solving and data analysis, and geometry and trigonometry. We work on turning a question into a mathematical model, choosing the right method and checking the work. We include the appropriate use of the digital test tools in question practice and build the balance between accuracy and speed through timed work.

SAT Reading and Writing

In this section, also known as SAT Verbal, we work on interpreting short passages accurately, evaluating evidence, understanding words in context and revising written expression. We cover grammar rules through sample questions and help the student notice differences in meaning between answer choices and base each answer on the text. We organise the work around the skill areas the student needs most.
